Retina Diagnostics

Modern imaging has revolutionized management of Retinal diseases. RIB is equipped with all important Retinal imaging devices. We have an independent Diagnostic block with adequate sitting arrangement to make the whole experience of waiting for the tests, pleasant and stress free

3D Spectral OCT: This machine uses a special laser light to scan different parts of the eyeball. It has a crucial role in checking the health of the center of your retina (Macula). It is also used to scan the anterior part of the eye (Anterior Segment OCT) and has various scans to diagnose and monitor Glaucoma

Fundus Camera with Fluorescein Angiography (FFA) and Autofluorescence (FAF): An advanced camera allows us to keep photographic documentation of your retina. It also allows us do additional imaging like FFA and FAF. FFA helps us study the health of the blood vessels in your retina. This test thus becomes important in complete evaluation of people suffering from vascular retinopathies like Diabetic Retinopathy, Retinal vein occlusion etc.

FAF helps us study the health of the outermost layer of your retina, the Retinal Pigment epithelum. This indirectly helps us assess the health of your photoreceptors (the celles which catch the light entering your eyes)

USG Bscan: This test uses sound to study the depth of the eye, when we cannot see the inner parts directly due to blood, exudates, cataract etc

Visual Field Analyzer/Perimetry: This is an important test to assess the integrity of the Visual Pathway. In patients with suspected disease of the optic nerve or beyond, we need to do this test to diagnose the site of damage, extent of damage and also to monitor response to therapy.
